We arrived in Summerland to visit our friends, John and Shelia. It was beautiful to see the lakes, orchards and vineyards. John had a wonderful meal waiting for us and we enjoyed the food and fellowship for the evening. We spent our days in the sun and water, enjoying the many activities they had planned for us.
Shelia and I were able to go for a few bike rides together and explore summerland. It was really fun. We also enjoyed our barbecues at the beach. They had some a couple kayaks, so I took out the kayaks with the kids and they had a great time figuring out how to handle them. I was really surprised with how warm the water was so I also enjoyed a dip into the lake with Hannah!
John went above and beyond making sure that we had wonderful meals to eat. Thanks John for all your hard work and the delicious meals! Two of those meals were barbecues at the beach. We met up with their friends and they brought a couple paddle boards. So I was able to go out for the first time and try the boards. They were really fun and I loved the challenge! There was also a spray park and a playground at the beach and so the kids ran and played to their hearts content.
Another activity that we did was to float down the channel in Penticton. It was a beautiful summer day and we had tons of floats. John and Shelia’s son and daughter-in-law also joined us much to the pleasure of the children. It was so much fun, we all got lots of sun and water.
Another day they took us to a resort in the mountains where they had a pool, mini golf, and trampolines on the lake. It was a beautiful drive and on the way Hannah saw a black bear and we all saw some mountain sheep. It was lovely. At the resort I played mini-golf with Caleb, Judah and Malaya. We had a great time and Caleb ended up beating us all! Then we had a great lunch, swam in the pool and finally headed back down to the lake. There we swam out to the trampoline on the lake and jumped and the kids tried to walk on a long yellow tube that was sticking out from the trampoline. They had a blast!
*Sorry I didn't get any pictures of that day...opps!*

We were also very happy to be able to meet with my long time friend from high school days, Kyla and her family. I think it had been 12 years since I saw her last. It was lovely to meet her two children and catch up with all that has been going on in their lives. We had a great meal at a German restaurant on the lake and then headed out in their boat. The kids got a chance to go tubing and Casey tried wake surfing for the first time. He did amazing and got up on the first try! The kids were so happy, you should have heard them cheering their dad on!
John and Shelia have a lovely home complete with a dog, chickens and sheep. It was so much fun to be there and learn all about where they live. We were spoiled with fresh farm eggs and lots of love!
