It had been so long since we had been to see Banff National Park and we were all very excited to see the mountains. Our first night we stayed at the Mount Kidd campground just outside the park. It was a great campground and we enjoyed our afternoon there.
We had a lot of fun learning all about bears and how to be safe around them.
Looking for bear signs in the woods.
This was a bear skull that they got to touch.
The pool though small, served the boys well and they splashed to their hearts content.
Then in the evening there was a show where we learned all about birds. The staff there did an amazing job; it was a lot of fun to watch.
The next day we headed into Banff and on the way we saw a big horn sheep on the side of the road. That was cool! We enjoyed walking through the shops with the kids. We got fudge and bear claws…classic!
My little Canadian!
Then we headed over to the museum and got to see all the animals. We got lots of pictures and the kids had fun touching the furs and antlers in the kids section.
We were able to see some more sights and end our day with a stop at the Hot Springs Pool. It was awesome to sit and soak after a long day of walking.
We then went to visit the first hot springs that were found in Banff and they had a great little museum there to see. There was a large game board outside and the kids enjoyed playing that. This is also where Casey and I went on one of our first dates!
Smile your on Candid Camera!
The next day we headed out to go see Lake Louise. We loved seeing the mountains during our drive through Banff.
Lake Louise!
We stopped at a campground for the night and the boys and I went for a walk, exploring! We had fun!
Caleb was taking some pictures of things and he got this prize! I was impressed.
Our last stop was the Glacier Ice Fields. The kids had never seen anything like that were amazed at such a large piece of ice.
They had a great time running around in sun and climbing over the rocks. Oh, and LAYING on the rocks! Then it was time to head to Caroline to see Casey’s mom.
