Planes, Bones and Hills

We learned of an airshow that was going on outside of Rocky Mountain House and decided to attend on our last day there.  Casey’s mom, who lives nearby, was able to come with us as well.  So we headed to a giant field to park with the hundreds of other vehicles and jumped in a bus to the airstrip.  The grounds were filled with people, vendors, musicians, and lots of airplanes.

There was one plane there that was used in one of the world wars and we were able to walk through it.  When you came to the place where the missiles were sitting there wasn’t even a bottom!  I can’t imagine being up in the air and walking through there.

The airshow was amazing!  We all enjoyed seeing the stunt planes flying through the sky.  They did some amazing stunts and it was a privilege to see them in action.

The jumpers didn’t some awesome stunts as well.

This one is called the candy cane.

It was a lovely way to spend our last day with Casey’s mom.

Our last adventure in southern Alberta was a day in Drumheller.  Drumheller is in an area where they have found many dinosaur bones.  It was amazing to see the replicas of the dinosaurs.  The displays were well done and we had a very enjoyable day.

We finished our time there off with a drive down to the Hoodoos.  It was just beginning to sprinkle, but we managed to walk around at the hoodoos and enjoy their beauty.

.  Then it was time to say good-bye to southern alberta, and head farther north.
