After we left Red Deer, we drove over to a campground near the Rocky Mountains to meet up with some of our friends, James and Angie from Edmonton. We met them when Hannah was 2 months old and Angie had her first child, Tara, who was also 2 months old. They were born 4 days apart. Needless to say we built a friendship in the nursery of our church! They also have a son, Jonathan, who was born the same year that Malaya was born. They have made an effort over the last nine years that we have been overseas to come and visit us where we have been living. So it was wonderful that we were able to come and spend some time with them in Canada.
They had some pools there and the kids spent a lot of time in them, having fun!
Of course, we roasted marshmallows and had some yummy, gooey smores!
The dads took the girls fishing and so us moms got to sit and chat. We had so much to catch up on. It was nice to camp there without all of the distractions of life around, giving us an opportunity to connect.
The boys all enjoyed bike riding on the bmx trails and jumps. Hannah, Malaya, and Tara had a great time catching up and enjoyed playing games and horseback riding. We had a great time with the Norquays and as always it was hard to say goodbye.
